The Lockheed® P-38 LIGHTNING® is a fast and heavily armed American long-range fighter from World War II. This unusual twin-engine aircraft had a gondola with a pilot's cabin arranged between two fuselages. The so-called "flying frame" delivered very good performance, which was reflected in a long production period from 1941 to 1945 and an excellent number of kills by American pilots. The aircraft was not taken out of service until 1965.

P-38 LIGHTNING was released under the original license of the American defense corporation Lockheed Martin. The aircraft, faithfully recreated in 1:32 scale, consists of 545 COBI building blocks.
