Unlike EXIT, however, the board game The Awakening is not about finishing the game as quickly as possible. Instead, the focus is on a gripping and dark background story: Single father Sam has to watch as his 14-year-old daughter Lizzy falls into a coma. So, in all his desperation, Sam decides to save his daughter with a sinister ritual. The players solve puzzles, combine different objects with one another and repeatedly make decisions that decisively change the story and the outcome of the game. Seven different ways in which the story ends are possible. The game is supported by a website.
