The Andalusian is also known as Pura razza espanola, which means the pure Spanish breed. It is a spirited and at the same time very graceful and sensitive horse.
Andalusians are known for their elegantly arched necks and flowing, soft hair.
The Andalusian was bred by monks in the south of Spain in the 15th century. Its graceful appearance enchanted nobles and kings in particular. Hardly anyone would suspect that the Andalusian was used as a cavalry horse for a long time. Although it has always been known for its courage and strength, it is its elegance that sets it apart. It is a unique dressage horse and even masters the famous aerial leap that is otherwise only known from the Lipizzaner High Riding School.
